About the Event

There are lots of ways that you can participate in More Than A Meal. You can choose to participate in one or all parts of the event. This particular registration is for MEAL PASS OUT only. There is a seperate registration for meal prep.

Please read the details below, BEFORE signing up for the event.

1. Meal Pass Out:  Those wishing to deliver or hand out meals to families are asked to join us around 11am. Please  prepared to drive to designated locations in Fort Mill and uptown Charlotte to help distribute meals until approximately 3:00pm. Please let us know in the comments section of the sign up form if you would like to drive your own vehicle or if you would like to ride with someone else.

There are two options for passout:

a.) Delivering to Families - Meals will be loaded into vehicles and delivered in batches as soon as they are ready to go. If a driver is passing out to a family, you will be given addresses and directions on site and asked to deliver food promptly to its destination. Please check with your volunteer coordinator to determine whether or not you should return after drop off or if you should head home. DELIVERY CAN WORK AROUND YOUR SCHEDULE. Do not let the start or end time deter you from participating.

b.) Delivering uptown and to shelters - Once all meals have been made and all family deliverys have been dispatched, we head uptown to pass out meals to those in need. This usually starts around 12p and ends around 2. This is all dependent on how long meal prep lasts. There will always be at least one more experienced driver leading the uptown volunteers.

***Please be aware that end times are approximate as we do not know how long each event will take. Start times are exact, however we estimate finish times.

2. Meal Prep: Anyone is welcome to join us for meal prep. We will spend about 2 hours, 10am-12pm, preparing between 300 and 500 meals. If you are interested in prep, please sign up using the Meal Prep regisration.

3. Donate Food or supplies: The supplies we need this month are bread, peanut butter (or alternative), jelly, lunch meat + cheese, baked potatoes, sour cream, cheese, butter packets, chives, salt packets, pepper packets and ramekins. If you are only signing up for prep, you will need to arrive early or coordinate an earlier drop off time.

Baked Potatos: should arrive already cooked AND warm.

4. Financial Contribution: Can't make it to the event? Want to help out, but don't have time to participate? Financial contributions help us to make sure that we have everything we need on the day of the event. Click Here to make a financial contribution.
